John Kennedy won the Devil ‘o the Highlands  race in 6:31 last weekend and ladies winner was Helen Johnson with 7:07, fifth overall.

Devil o’ the Highlands 2007

Next weekend sees the start of the 43 mile Devil o’ the Highlands in Tyndrum, on the course of the West Highland Way . 68 people have signed up and entries for this years race are now closed.  The 2008 Application form will be available for download from 1st July 2007.

Dartmoor Discovery 2007 Results

Last weekends race on Dartmoor was a victory for the Royal Navy AC taking first, second and fifth places with Brian Cole finishing with the honours. First lady home was Heather-Foundling Hawker, fully recovered from her Self-Transcendence 100km championship in Edinburgh 2 weeks ago - finishing almost an hour ahead of second place lady, Linda Cummins.

The North Face Endurance Challenge

Dean Karnazes is hosting an event sponsored by North Face. Prize money is being awarded to the top male and female runners in a series of four regional 50 mile races leading to a championship at the end of November beginning of Dececmber in San Francisco where the prize will be 10k.

This is a significant attempt to raise the profile of ultrarunning and to attract the best runners the US has right now.

Despite the rain wind and low temperatures on Sunday, 310 of the 439 who started the event completed the 100 miles of walking and 14,000 feet of climbing around Llandrindod Wells in under 48 hours. Read the rest of this entry »
