George Dayantis 1962-2011

I received news that George Dayantis passed away suddenly in the early hours of June 6th apparently from an ischemic heart condition.
I did not have the chance to speak to him but I did run in the Barry 40 a few years ago and was impressed with his capacity. His victory at the Barry 40 this year was his third in a row. George ran well at the Crawley 12 hour this year and represented England in the 2010-11 Anglo Celtic Plate where he finished 3rd in the UKA 100km Championship

George was a member of Christchurch Runners and there are some tributes and links to his race results.

There is an article he wrote in the Roadrunner magazine, the journal of the Road Runners Club No. 188, Spring 2009 about his Barry race that year.
