Greenwood & Hawker Run Well At Comrades

British women ultrarunners Ellie Greenwood and Lizzy Hawker produced excellent performances at the 2011 Comrades Marathon between Durban and Pietermaritzburg in South Africa.
More than 19600 runners started this year’s event with 11374 finishers. This year the 87 km ultramarathon was the up route and next year the direction is reversed and finishes in Durban.
Greenwood came 4th in 6:32.46 and Hawker was 7th in 6:48.28.
Ian Sharman finished in 56th place with a time of 06:25:31

The race was won for the third year in a row by Stephen Muzhingi in 05:32:46 and the Womens race was als won by last years winner Russian Elena Nurgalieva in 06:24:11
